Deep research plans, browses many sources, and returns a long structured report with citations — built for questions that need aggregation across the web, uploaded files, or connected apps. Start it by typing /Deepresearch, choosing Deep research from the tools (+) menu, or from the sidebar; it proposes a plan you can edit before it runs, and you can watch progress and redirect it mid-run.

It is slow (often many minutes) and metered — usage is capped by plan and shown in an in-product counter that resets every 30 days from first use. Reserve it for genuinely multi-step questions; for a quick lookup, plain chat or a single search is faster and does not spend a task.
